One last post prior to taking off on the Sydney Hobart Race tomorrow. It has been amazing that everyone in Sydney seems to know about the race and are quite impressed when they find out we are part of it. The guy at the Microsoft store was really excited to meet someone that was doing it!
One of the sight seeing adventures I did have was a trip to Robben Island, home of Nelson Mandela for the 18 years he was held as a political prisoner. Javi and I checked it out together. It was our last fun time other than Crew dinner later that night prior to his returning back to Munich and the birth of his first child.

Interesting Birds and a seal awaited our arrival at the Island.

My favorite part were the African Penguins.

They were little guys.

Made me think of Happy Feet!

As you can tell I am obsessed with the Penguins!

A view of Cape Town and Table Mountain from the Penguin’s beach!

Light House on Robben Island. Tales have it there are many ship wrecks near the Island along with the gold still under the sea.

One of the quarries the prisoners worked in.

Quarry with old WWII fortress

Cannon from WWII Defense

Official Prison Flag
Quite an experience to see and hear the information on someone that I have read about for years. Great opportunity for me to be engaged and want to learn more. Maybe I can do that when I get home and have time???
There’s not a day that goes by that I don’t check on you about 10 times. Clip on and bring my knife back please. Love you.
